Summer Learning journey fingerprints.

Today with the Summer Learning Journey I looked at fingerprints. I used Nanogirls suggestion of using sticky tape to take an impression of my fingerprint. Then I took a photo of the tape and zoomed in on the picture so I could see what type of fingerprint mine was. Mine was arched.

I cropped the photo in so it only shows a small part of my fingerprint because I didn't want to put my whole fingerprint online in case someone frames me for a crime.

Here is my photo.

Next I am going to find out if cats have different paw prints from each other. What do you think?

  1. Kia ora Indiana,

Great job thinking like an investigator and looking at your fingerprints in this activity. Did you learn something about using science to solve crime?

Awesome work figuring out your fingerprint is an arch, mine is a loop. It's tricky to figure out because they’re all very similar patterns! You did a great job explaining the three types of fingerprints!

Well done thinking cybersmart and making the decision to not upload your whole fingerprint, it is important to decide what you would like to share, and what you would like to keep private!

I’ve never thought about cats' paws! I also wonder if they have special paw prints that make them all unique and different, you’ll have to let me know after you investigate.

Keep up the awesome and creative mahi.

    Ngā mihi,
    Lauren
